The Corten planters come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They provide a striking focal point to any space, whether it be an office entrance or kitchen window sill. Corten or weathering steel organically evolves to its environment, producing a vibrant orange patina, which not only protects the steel but creates a stunning finish. All our planters are made to the highest quality at our studio in the heart of rural China and will be delivered in an un-weathered state.
The natural weathering of Corten usually takes between 1 and 3 months depending on climate. During this time, some patina run off may occur, with possible staining to adjacent materials (concrete, paving slabs etc..). We therefore advise clients to take this into account when initially positioning their planter. Once the patina has fully developed the steel will self-seal eliminating any run off. Although Arthur Francis Sculpture have fitted all planters with 15mm feet to minimise the staining from run off, we are not responsible for any staining that may occur.
The planter box arrives in a raw gray color and naturally develops a beautiful rust patina over time naturally.But if you don't want to wait you can accelerate the process through a few chemicals that can be prepared at home.
