Corten steel, also known as weathering steel, is a type of steel alloy that contains copper, chromium, nickel, and phosphorus, along with other elements. It is renowned for its ability to develop a protective rust-like surface layer when exposed to weathering conditions, such as rain, snow, humidity, and sunlight.

- The round 80 cm water bowl is made of at least 3 mm thick Corten steel and is therefore particularly robust. We supply the bowl already pre-rusted, which gives you a new focal point in your garden immediately after assembly.
- The Corten steel bowl is overflowing, but this set contains a large 150 litre water basin. A pump operates the system in circulation. As a highlight, LED lighting is integrated directly into the water outlet.
- Thanks to low voltage technology, it is particularly safe for humans and animals. A safety transformer ensures that the dangerous 230 V mains voltage is not in the water, but only a safe 12 V is output for the pump.
Robust and durable
Corten steel is perfect for a modern water feature. Compared to normal steel, Corten steel forms a protective layer and thus ensures an extremely long service life. We use genuine corten steel for our water bowls with a thickness of min. 3 mm.
Stainless steel feet
For perfect water flow, the bowl can be optimally aligned via the CNC-milled stainless steel feet. Since these do not rust, the water bowl can still be adjusted even after years if the water basin is still sitting down.
Useful information: We supply the Corten steel shell already pre-rusted, but the rusting process is not yet complete. Wet/dry operations are required to form so that the lock layer known for Corten steel. This means when the fountain is not active, the bowl runs empty and can dry. This process should be maintained in the first operating year, then the idle function can be cancelled. A suitable seal for this is already included.
How does Corten steel develop its rust-like appearance?
When exposed to the elements, Corten steel undergoes a process called weathering, during which it forms a patina of rust on its surface. This rust layer acts as a protective barrier against further corrosion and gives Corten steel its distinctive weathered and rustic appearance.
